Location: Southern Bahamas... the best of subtropical climate zones, avoiding early-year cold fronts and enjoying surprisingly moderate summer/fall temperatures.
The Ocean: Crystal-clear and rich with underwater life. No pollution, no land runoffs! Two shorelines (Atlantic and Exuma Bank) across just 1 mile of average land width! Studded with reefs, ringed with beaches.
Temperatures: Average Winter air mid-seventies to eighties, water mid-70s to low 80s. Summer/Fall air 80s to 90s, water mid-eighties.
The Island: Unspoiled, friendly, quaint, unhurried, historically interesting, very attractive and perfectly safe. Some 80 miles of pretty town settings and gorgeous sea vistas.
Stella Maris Resort Club: Very nice, not too large, yet quite complete. Fairly priced, with excellent services. Dedicated to Sun & Sea, Diving and snorkeling, wholesome day activities and pleasant sunset entertainment. Ideal for water sports enthusiasts and for just-getting-away-from-it-all vacations, but not suited for 'glittery'-style holidays.
Stella Maris is a Plantation-style resort complex of some two-dozen cottage/bungalow style buildings, in a large, very peaceful and truly beautiful Atlantic Ocean garden estate. Each unit with individual A/C, ceiling fan, small refrigerator, hair dryer, coffee maker, 1 single and 1 double bed, some with king bed. Each room has a Patio or balcony with ocean view. The resort also features 1,2,3 and 4-bedroom cottages - some with private pool.
Guests of the resort enjoy a full complimentary activity schedule including bicycles, kayaks, boat cruises, snorkeling and land excursions, evening parties and entertainment, 3 pools, and beautiful beaches.
Your Perfect Island Wedding
$1100.00 - The “Stella Maris Wedding Package” covers all nice necessaries for the actual wedding, for bride and groom. We have many suggestions of how to make this once-a-life-time event just what you want it to be …from low-key and intimate to, if you wish, more formal and more active. Our resort and nearby island areas provide many choices of very attractive settings for the ceremony, for a following party and for any possible, subsequent wedding visitor activities.It covers the costs for:
* All documentary processing “Bahamas” = our efforts and those of the Bahamian Authorities – to the point of issuing the Marriage License (provided that the two marriage applicants will meet all formal requirements)
* The actual and legally required marriage ceremony performance, undertaken – by choice of the bride and groom – by a local “Government Administrator” or an appropriately qualified Priest
* Wedding Bouquet & Boutonniere of local flowers; informal wedding decorations for the place of the ceremony and the wedding dinner area
* Snacks for 8 persons and two bottles of champagne, for the ceremony
* Four-course wedding dinner, with wedding cake, for 2 persons (bride and groom)
Custom Wedding Packages:
We have catered to wedding groups of up to 80 participants, quoting for local transportation systems, the ceremonies, the parties, and subsequent island activities!A group of such size would just about occupy our Resort Club entirely, making such an event the center of our attention. However, no wedding is too small for deserving our fullest commitment to detail and to the bride’s and groom’s happiness!

One of our staff, with excellent ability, is available to photograph your wedding.
Local guitar player or excellent Bahamian Band will be quoted on request.
