My love of travel started as a young girl, when my family lived in Italy for two and a half years. As an adult, those dreams of learning more about the world translated first into a job with TWA reservations, then with various travel agencies for the past 21 years. Now, as a travel consultant with Carefree Vacations, I love planning trips for honeymooners, families, seniors, solo travelers and anyone else who shares that same desire to explore exotic and exciting places.
Tapping my friendly, outgoing personality and people skills, I zero in on my clients in order to really understand their needs and wishes. I find out about their excursions in the past and hopes for the future, never imposing my own opinions unless they ask for them. To help their trip go smoothly, I suggest that they read books and do other research about their destination of choice ahead of time. I also encourage them to travel without too many expectations, enjoying each place for what it is and appreciating the different cultures and lifestyles they encounter.
My own adventures have included many cruises, from explorations of the Mexican Riviera with Carnival Cruise Lines to touring Alaska with the Holland America Line. I freely admit to a passion for warm weather and tropical locations, and I count Tahiti as one of the more wonderful trips I’ve taken in recent years. I lived in Hawaii for a year, and I try to return there frequently to stay on top of the many things to see and do in the islands of aloha. But no matter where in the world my clients want to go, I can’t help but get excited about planning their itinerary and seeing the happiness they get out their travels, before, during and after.
