You might say that travel is in my blood. I was born and raised in Lima, Peru to an America mother and Peruvian father. Throughout my childhood I traveled between South America and the U.S, embracing both cultures, and I went to an American/International school where most students spoke at least two languages. This upbringing injected me with wanderlust from a young age, and today it enhances my abilities as a travel professional, a job I have held since 1993.

I sell what I love, particularly all-inclusive resorts, tropical destinations, luxury beach properties and adventure travel in Central and South America. More and more clients are looking for something different these days, and I’m good at directing them to some very specialized resorts and activities. Wherever I go, I always visit properties to see what’s best for my clients. Over the years I have built relationships with hotel managers and sales teams; I am loyal to them, and therefore they are loyal to me and to my clients.

Since I have family in Costa Rica and Peru, I travel there every year. One of my best friends lives in Madrid, so I also head to Spain and Western Europe on an annual basis, discovering a new town or city on every trip. A real highlight for me was a seven-day cruise from Barcelona that I took with my whole family, including my two sons. For families who want to travel to Europe, I highly recommend cruising, as it is truly the best value.

I pride myself on giving clients the kind of advice they’d never find on the Internet. For instance, it’s not wise to book a rental car in Costa Rica, because there are no road signs and many roads aren’t paved. For the same cost, they can hire their own driver. Similarly, I tell clients when I think they would get more out of booking a private excursion than a big group tour. Going somewhere with their own guide may be more expensive, but the extra cost is worth it, especially in a place they’re not familiar with.

I constantly update what I know through courses and seminars. However, it’s my hands-on experiences around the world that really make me good at creating perfect vacations for clients. The more I travel, the more I learn about how to travel. A perfectionist to a fault, I throw myself into each trip that I plan, because I want you to love travel as much as I do.
